Birthday Variations (Single)
TMG-024. Connie wrote Birthday Variations in 1958 as a birthday gift for her brother Philip. She delivered the manuscript but never recorded it in full, herself...the gift for Phil was not to listen, but to learn the challenging piece! The piano on this version is performed by our friend Jacqueline Santillan of Wait. Think. Fast.
Available now via bandcamp and on all other digital platforms starting 9/3/24
Sad Lady (EP)
HC-008. Sad Lady and Sorrow Is My Name—both previously broadcast but never released—are joined by Connie's gorgeous (albeit impromptu) arrangement of the traditional ballad The Ash Grove. The EP closes with two of her doubletracked arrangements (Down This Road and We Lived Alone, both previously released in different form on 2009’s How Sad, How Lovely) that shed new light on her songcraft and melodic sensibility.
Available for streaming/download on all digital platforms, and for hi-res download via bandcamp.
Musicks
TMG-023. Digital album release to commemorate Connie's 99th birthday. Musicks is the fabled omnibus of one-off tape reels that Connie made for her brother and sister-in-law as a private “Song of the Month” club. Some of these tracks were included on 2009’s How Sad, How Lovely, but most have been unheard until now. This is the first time the collection has been presented in its entirety.
All tracks have been newly restored by Dan Dzula (producer, How Sad, How Lovely).
Available for streaming/download on all digital platforms, and for hi-res download via bandcamp.
How Sad, How Lovely
